The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust: Winners of the British Journal of Nursing Awards

Continence Category 2011

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are proud winners of the British Journal of Nursing Awards 2011 – Continence Category

The awards were held at the prestigious Landmark Hotel, London in March 2011 to highlight and reward clinical excellence and innovation in nursing. The Awards were hosted by Dr Christian Jessen (Embarrassing Bodies, Channel 4), with Sir George Castledine and Dame Christine Beasley.

A panel of respected judges paid particular attention to initiative and enterprise in nursing, to reward nurses who have achieved outstanding success in a range of clinical areas. These prestigious awards play an important part in setting standards, in encouraging the celebration of excellent practice, and in promoting enthusiasm for the challenging and exciting work that nurses perform.

Joanne Mangnall, Continence Nurse and Stuart Lakin, Head of Medicines Management picked up the award on behalf of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This completes a hat-trick of awards for the Rotherham Trust who also won the Nursing Times Awards - Continence Category in 2009 and were Medipex finalists in 2010.

Rebecca McQueen, Sales Manager of Ontex UK comments; “Nobody deserves this award more than Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust who continually demonstrate their commitment to Continence Care and have work exceptionally hard for their achievements over the last 3 years. Particular credit should go to Joanne Magnall, Continence Advisor, whose enthusiasm and expertise has played a major part in the Trust’s success.”
